Through its Align. Measure. Perform. (AMP) program, the Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA) assesses how well medical groups perform on clinical quality and patient experience measures each year. The AMP programs are recognized nationally for partnering with organizations across California and the nation to drive meaningful changes that reduce costs and improve healthcare quality and outcomes.
Recently, IHA recognized six medical groups in the Sutter Health Plus network for performing well on over a dozen measures in 2020 (the most recent year for which data is available).
Clinical Quality
Only 18 medical groups, out of 173 evaluated, received “Top 10 percent” awards for clinical quality in 2020. Three Sutter Health Plus network medical groups were among the recipients:
- Sutter Medical Group
- Palo Alto Medical Foundation
- Mills-Peninsula Physician Network
Only eight medical groups in California earned an award for improved clinical quality between 2019 and 2020. Two of the honorees were Sutter Health Plus network medical groups:
- Sutter Independent Physicians
- Sutter East Bay Medical Foundation
Patient Experience
Additionally, only 15 medical groups, out of 145 evaluated, received “Top 10 percent” awards for patient experience in 2020. Three Sutter Health Plus network medical groups were among the recipients:
- Sutter Medical Group
- Palo Alto Medical Foundation
- Sutter East Bay Medical Foundation
