Last week, Sutter Health Plus filed an application with state regulators to expand its footprint to include communities in the Bay Area. This growth opportunity comes on the heels of an expansion to Sonoma County in March 2015.
“The ability to expand our affordably priced products further into the Bay Area will be a significant milestone for us,” said Steve Nolte, CEO of Sutter Health Plus. “We plan to offer health plan products to individuals, families and employer groups of all sizes—the same suite of products offered in the Greater Sacramento, Central Valley and Sonoma County areas.”
Sutter Health Plus seeks approval to add HMO coverage in Alameda, Contra Costa, San Francisco and San Mateo counties, as well as parts of Santa Clara County. Health plan offerings could begin as early as open enrollment this fall.
