Same-Day Pharmacy Delivery Expands in the Bay Area

Apr 20, 2021 | Access, Health and Wellness

These days, everything from groceries to school supplies can be ordered online for same-day home delivery. Sutter Health Plus members in a select Bay Area delivery zone have access to free, same-day retail pharmacy delivery through Alto Pharmacy—for many prescription drugs—at the same cost share as picking them up. This service can help save time, money, and offers a contactless alternative to visiting the pharmacy.

Alto recently expanded their delivery zone in the Bay Area. Please note that the following map represents the Alto delivery service area and some areas may be outside the Sutter Health Plus service area.

How does Alto Pharmacy delivery work?
To get started with Alto Pharmacy delivery, download the Alto app for IOS or Android or visit alto.com and create an account.

Once a provider prescribes an eligible medication, members can ask the provider to send the new prescription or transfer existing prescription to Alto. Then, Alto will coordinate authorization with Sutter Health Plus and search for ways to save money on the medication for the member. Within an hour of receiving the prescription, Alto will contact the member with free delivery options to help ensure the prescription is received—even the same day.

Prescription delivery is available between noon and 10 p.m. Same-day deliveries must be scheduled by 5 p.m. on weekdays or 1 p.m. on weekends. In-person pick-up is also available at either of the following locations:
