Sutter Health is expanding access to health care in the Bay Area by opening a new hospital in the heart of the city. Opening its doors March 2, 2019, the California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) Van Ness Campus will be an 11-floor, 274 acute-care bed hospital occupying an entire city block between Geary and Post streets. Centrally located along the bustling Van Ness corridor, this modern facility will usher in the next generation of health care to people working and living in San Francisco and beyond.
The CPMC Van Ness Campus champions a forward-thinking, sustainable environment to foster health and wellbeing. The state-of-the-art facility features safety innovations to reduce infection and increase efficiency, and personal touches like living roof gardens and curated artwork.
“Through its human-centered design, the new CPMC Van Ness Campus will offer our members access to high-quality care in a space that reflects wellness and the inclusive culture of San Francisco,” said Rob Carnaroli, Sutter Health Plus vice president of Sales.
Along with a LEED Silver certified green design, the hospital includes first-in-the-nation seismic technology that can help absorb an earthquake’s impact—capable of remaining fully operational for up to four days should there be a strong seismic event.
The CMPC Van Ness Campus marks an exciting milestone in Sutter Health’s rich history in the community reaching back more than 100 years.
