Whether you’re shopping for health care coverage, or you are a current member looking for a specialist or a new primary care physician (PCP), you can find the provider you need from your smart phone, laptop or tablet.
The provider search tool is one way to locate any of the 7,000 Sutter Health Plus network providers found throughout 15 Northern California counties. The online provider directory contains dozens of searchable types of providers and facilities. Use it to find:
- Primary Care Providers: Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN)*, Pediatrics
- Specialists
- Sutter Walk-in Care Clinics and Urgent Care Centers
- Hospitals
You can also narrow your search to find a provider by affiliation (medical group and hospital), languages spoken, and gender.
When you choose a PCP, you are also selecting your physician’s medical group. Many covered services, including visits to a specialist, require a referral and prior authorization from your medical group. Your PCP will make referrals to specialists within the same medical group.
If you need specialty care and have a specific specialist in mind, check the provider directory to see what medical group the specialist is in. Make sure you choose your PCP within that medical group. To change your primary care physician, log into the member portal or contact member services at 855-315-8500.
