2024 marked a significant milestone for Sutter Health Plus as we celebrated our 10-year anniversary on January 1. To commemorate this achievement, we are giving back to the communities that have supported us throughout the years by donating a total of $136,000 to five charities that share our commitment to improving people’s lives in our local communities.

Twenty Sutter Health Plus network hospital campuses received an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit focused on patient safety. An additional five hospital campuses in the network earned a “B” grade for prioritizing patient safety and helping protect patients from preventable harms and errors.

Sutter Health Plus offers members age 13 and older a valuable resource to help individuals build resilience and improve their mental health through an innovative program, Self Care by AbleTo.

As people navigate their busy lives, the need for healthcare can arise unexpectedly and knowing how to manage their health on the go becomes essential. Before hitting the road, members should understand their healthcare benefits and how to access care if needed.
Now that fall is here, it’s the perfect time to prepare for the upcoming cold and flu season — one of the most important steps is getting the annual flu vaccine. Vaccinations protect more than just the individual getting it. It safeguards their family, coworkers and those in their community who may be more vulnerable.
Finding information at a moment’s notice has become increasingly easier through smart technology — and that ease includes health plan information. Sutter Health Plus offers a convenient, user-friendly platform to help members manage their healthcare anytime, anywhere. Members have access to the Member Portal where they can retrieve important plan information from a smartphone, tablet or computer.
A new offering through USBHPC, a subsidiary of Optum, is Ria Health — an innovative telehealth alcohol treatment program that uses medications, online counseling and support to help members age 18 years and older achieve lasting results. Ria Health’s flexibility makes it ideal for people with busy schedules, and those who don’t feel traditional programs or rehab are the right fit.
How people spend their day is important — with work, family and everything in between, checking items off a “to-do” list can be challenging. With technology imbedded into daily life, managing health virtually is becoming widely accepted. In fact, during the first half of 2024, approximately 11% of Sutter’s ambulatory patient visits (outside of labs and radiology) were virtual. Sutter Health Plus members can manage their health any place and anytime through My Health Online* (MHO).
Nine Sutter Health Plus network medical groups earned four stars or higher in quality of care or patient experience — or both — for care provided to patients enrolled in a Commercial Health Maintenance Organization, or HMO plan.
