U.S. News & World Report Names Sutter Health Plus Network Hospitals Among Best in California

Six hospitals within the Sutter Health Plus network achieved recognition today as among the best hospitals in California for 2016-17 by U.S. News & World Report. The annual rankings rate top hospitals in the state and in major metropolitan regions, as well as top hospitals according to their performance across 25 specialties, procedures and conditions.

Sutter Health Plus network hospitals recognized among the top 50 in the state and top 10 in their metro area include:

San Francisco metro area

  • California Pacific Medical Center
  • Mills-Peninsula Health Services
  • Sequoia Hospital (Redwood City)

Sacramento metro area

  • Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento
  • Sutter Roseville Medical Center

San Jose metro area

  • El Camino Hospital

Six physician organizations in the Sutter Health Plus network that participated in the 2015 CAPG Standards of Excellence Survey earned Elite status—the highest honor awarded by CAPG, a trade association for physician organizations. Four Network Hospitals Earn Top Honors for Patient Safety

Four hospital campuses in the Sutter Health Plus network earned “A” grades for patient safety from The Leapfrog Group® in its Fall 2015 Hospital Safety Score. Eden Medical Center, Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital, Sutter Davis Hospital and Sutter Delta Medical Center were recognized for their overall performance in keeping patients safe from preventable harm and medical errors. The letter grades were calculated from 28 evidence-based national measures of hospital safety and more than 2,500 hospitals nationwide participated in Leapfrog’s Hospital Safety Score program. The grades are derived from expert analysis of publicly available data using 28 evidence-based, national measures of hospital safety. For more information, visit hospitalsafetyscore.org.

Two Network Hospitals Among Best in California by U.S. News & World Report

U.S. News & World Report recognized two hospitals in the Sutter Health Plus network as among the best regional hospitals in California for 2015 and 2016. Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento and Sutter Roseville Medical Center were honored among the top 50 hospitals in the state and top 10 in the Sacramento metro area.
