Sutter Health Plus recently received state regulatory approval to join CaliforniaChoice®, the state’s leading private health benefits exchange that offers health care coverage options to more than 12,500 small-business employers and 215,000 employees and dependent members.
As a result, small-business owners and employees that shop for coverage through CaliforniaChoice will see a new health plan option—Sutter Health Plus—this open enrollment season. Other carriers on the exchange include Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Health Net, Kaiser Permanente, Sharp Health Plan, UnitedHealthcare and Western Health Advantage.
“The mission of our health plan is simple: give people affordable, convenient ways to access high-quality care,” says Steve Nolte, CEO of Sutter Health Plus. “Partnering with CHOICE Administrators and CaliforniaChoice opens up for us a new way to fulfill our mission.”
Sutter Health Plus coverage for CaliforniaChoice groups will start as early as December. HMO plan options will include 12 small group plan designs:
- Two Bronze tier plans
- Four Silver tier plans
- Three Gold tier plans
- Three Platinum tier plans
“Businesses now have another option that allows them to give employees affordably priced medical coverage and access to Sutter Health’s highly respected network of community providers,” continued Nolte.
