Today, Dignity Health, a healthcare provider system, and Sutter Health Plus, a not-for-profit HMO affiliated with Sutter Health, announced the signing of agreements offering Sutter Health Plus members access to Dignity Health Medical Group-Dominican physicians effective April 1, 2020.
The Sutter Health Plus network in Santa Cruz County includes Palo Alto Medical Foundation and its care centers throughout the county, Sutter Maternity & Surgery Center, Dominican Hospital, and Watsonville Community Hospital.
“We are excited about our collaboration with Dignity to add additional doctors to the network in Santa Cruz County,” said Brian Fellner, Sutter Health Plus CEO. “Ensuring our members have access to safe, high-quality care is one of our top priorities—especially during these uncertain times where people are concerned about their health and wellness.”
Dignity Health Medical Group-Dominican includes approximately 100 primary and specialty care providers in 19 locations across Santa Cruz County.
Same-day and video visits with Dignity Health Medical Group-Dominican physicians are available for primary care needs (including pediatrics and OB/GYN) on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Dignity Health Medical Group-Dominican Westside Family Practice location also offers weekend video visits from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The medical group includes an urgent care location in Capitola on 41st Street where members can book an appointment online or walk in for the same-day care for non-emergency needs.
Earlier this year Sutter Health Plus and Dignity Health announced the addition of Dominican Hospital to the Sutter Health Plus network.
“Dignity Health’s expanded partnership with Sutter Health Plus gives Santa Cruz County residents greater choice and access to a network of exceptional physicians, as well as continued access to the county’s full-service, nationally recognized hospital, “said Todd Strumwasser, MD, president of Dignity Health’s Northern California Division. “We are honored to be a part of this community and meet residents’ health care needs right in their backyard.”
As of April 1, the Sutter Health Plus network includes 30 hospitals and campuses, more than 8,000 providers, hundreds of conveniently located facilities, and dozens of urgent care centers and Sutter Walk-In Care locations.
All Sutter Health Plus members have access to quick and convenient virtual visits with licensed clinicians for treatment and advice, which helps minimize the spread of infection and ease pressure on provider offices, emergency rooms, and urgent care centers. Video visits are available 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day from a smartphone, tablet, or computer.
