Accessing Care Away from Home

When planning a trip—for a business meeting, relaxation, an extreme adventure, or anything in between—the last thing anyone wants to worry about is what to do if they get sick or injured. It’s important to understand your health benefits and know how to access care away from home.

Planning Ahead
If you have travel coming up, plan ahead for your healthcare. Members should visit Accessing Care While Traveling to understand important things about their healthcare and medical benefits before, during and after a trip.

Urgent and Emergency Care
Whether traveling 50 or 5,000 miles away, Sutter Health Plus members needing urgent or emergency care are covered worldwide, in or out-of-network.

Same-day Care
If traveling within California, same-day virtual care with a clinician is available for common health issues from a phone, tablet or computer through My Health Online. Video visits available every day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and most holidays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Also available across Northern California is Sutter Walk-In Care for everyday illnesses and health needs.
