Sutter Health Plus recently invested $75,000 in Fit Quest, an on-site school program that teaches 5th and 6th grade students easy ways to increase physical activity, adopt healthy eating habits and engage in activities that promote mental wellness.

The Fit QShady Creek Check Presentation 10 13 15_1uest program, sponsored by Sutter Medical Foundation and Shady Creek Outdoor Education Foundation, reached more than 2,400 students in the Yuba City and Marysville school districts in the 2014-2015 school years. “We’re excited to partner with Sutter Health Plus to expand Fit Quest,” said Daria Ali, Shady Creek Outdoor Education Foundation’s executive director. “It’s truly rewarding to help more people foster healthy food choices, active lifestyles and mental wellness through improved self-esteem for students and families.”

“Together, we’re able to provide the tools and resources needed to improve the lives of children,” said Shannon Cueva, Shady Creek Outdoor School and Event Center’s director. “Thank you Sutter Health Plus and the Shady Creek Outdoor Education Foundation for your partnership.”

Sutter Health Plus’ $75,000 investment in the Fit Quest program is just one more way the health plan fulfills its not-for-profit mission to give back to the community.
